Eligibility requirements Ownership eligibility When the property is owned by one or more persons, and one or more of the owners qualify for this exemption while others qualify for the Exemption for persons with disabilities, the owners have the option of choosing the more beneficial exemption. The assessor then has 30 days to decide whether the senior would have qualified for the exemption if the senior owned the property as of the deadline.
